Sealant for upper timing cover

Hi all,

Still in the process of replacing the head gasket on my 94 e220 coupe W124.

Does anyone know what sealant can be used for the upper timing cover ?
The manual states it should be Omnifit FD10, however the dealer did not list it and a google search doesnt shed much light either.

Anyone know where I can get hold of some or if there is an alternative I can use ?

You just want high temperature automotive sealant... we use a VW one, its fantastic stuff.
You can buy similar from your local motor factors.

Omnifit FD10 is made by Loctite AFAIK

In the UK its probably branded as a Loctite product, such as Loctite 574.

Thanks for the help guys, will order some of the Loctite 574.
Pretty expensive stuff @ £20 for 50ml !
