Hi All,
I am new to the forum here.
There is an older unsolved post with a similar issue that I have posted on but to no avail.
Anyway, I have recently bought a 2014 E220. When I fit my seat belt and the automatic tensioner has run and tightened it, I then hear what sounds like an electric motor noise coming from the side pillar, where I guess the tensioner mechanism is housed. This is not the tensioning action, as that has finished, but this noise happens perhaps 2 seconds later and is louder and harsher than the tensioner noise and just doesn’t sound right. When I deactivate the tensioning function this noise does go away, but I do like the tensioning feature. Is this correct and what is it for? It does not happen every time, but more often than not.
I never had this noise with the tensioner in my previous 2011 E200.
Any information is appreciated.
Thanks,
Kass.
