300TE - The front seat belts do not retract when released? Is the tensioner or some other mechanism in the side pillars faulty? They do go in when 'applied' through the retract slot. How do you get to the belt mechanism?

Not the sort of thing you should be playing with, as your life might depend on them one day. Get new ones.;)

i think he is saying that his belt doesnt retract quickly back into the B pillar....

Correct......they function ok when worn but go 'limp' rather than 'pulled' back into the pillars!

Which ususually means that the seat-belt mechanism isn't retracting and the complete belt system needs renewing.

as they hold you in place while driving that is more important so as not to go through the screen. did these have pre tensioners?

They often get a build up of crudon the belt and guides causing them to stick.. Wipe clean with a warm damp cloth, leave out to dry and see if it helps.
