Seat heating not working, switches off automatically after ca. 10-20 secs.

Hi,
I am new to this forum and would be glad if anybody could give me some advice how to get my heated seat on my 2010 S212 fixed. If I press the heated seat button, it switches itself off after ca. 10-20 secs and the mat on the seat does not get warm at all.
Any idea what the fault could be?

could be anything from low battery voltage or a open circuit (damaged heating mat etc). get it hooked up to a diagnostic machine at a local garage, star if you can. that'll tell you exactly what the problem is
