Seat height not enough

I have an E300 hybrid which is a great car and I have had from new.
However after my wife bought a Kia Niro PHEV I realised that the E seat height is too low as I get older.

I have always used the seat to maximum height but there is still plenty of headroom and I am 5’11” which makes me wonder if the seat is going full height or is it just that after 65k miles the seat has sagged.

Any ideas, apart from a cushion, please?

Thanks

Welding additional seat rails to the base ones might be possible but don't know how safe would it be and the other option would be adding 2 cushions if you don't like the idea of only one ;)

Are you still comfortable in your car?

Is the seat too low for comfort or too low for visibility?

I think you have a wonky unsafe driving position! My seat puts me up so far where the rear view mirror actually dangerously impedes my view of the road in front of me and im shorter than you, but hey you maybe do have a faulty seat that doesnt go up far enough

Have you tried adjusting the seat without actually sitting in it --- if that's possible? If there's an adjustment mechanism problem it may be enough to allow full movement to get to a setting you want. The other thing that occurs is that after a service you may find the seat position has been changed by the road test mechanic and not put back to its original setting.

I remember as a kid visiting the barber (I had hair then) and he used to put a board across the chair arms to raise me up so he could see to my barnet. Maybe this would help? ;)

At a lofty 5' 7" I suppose I would still need said board but as stated I no longer need a barber :p

At 5'11" if you need to raise the seat to the max or beyond...there is something very wrong with the car or your driving style. I'm short...but at max seat height it would be dangerous to drive the car.

The passenger seat in my 968 cab was too low even at max up, complaints from wife! As seat is held on with 6 cap head bolts I bought some 25mm x 12mm aluminium strip and suitable size cap head bolts (IIRC M8 x 15mm longer than the originals), drilled the required matching holes in the aluminium and installed them under the seats, problem solved! Maybe you could do the same under your seat - don't know how the seats are mounted in an E300.

How on earth can you drive with the seat all the way up? Unless your backrest is vertical then your head must be poking out the sunroof man!

I am 6”2 myself and any can I jump in the seat goes to its lowest position available. Ok, maybe apart from my BMW GT at the moment. It goes too low in that. It’s an inch or so off lowest.

I can't seem to get the seat low enough in most cars including the SLK, I hate that feeling that I'm sitting on top of the car rather than within it.

Have you considered Mr Bean style?
