I will be collecting my new E350 Night Edition (S212) in a couple of weeks and as is the norm have been offered the normal extras GAP insurance (my current insurer replaces a written off car with a new one in the first two years so not needed), paint and leather protection (I am very careful with cars and polish regularly and clean the seats also from time to time).
My question is regarding the leather used, my current car is an E300 Hybrid with leather seats, presumably similar leather to new car, this does not look to be coated leather but does anyone know if the seats are coated from new?
Any advice will help me decide if it is worth paying out or in fact can I buy the treatment and do the seats myself or is this best left to experienced people?

They are ripping you off - unless they are fully aware of the piss poor products they are producing nowadays:fail

Leather protection - what a joke.

All modern car leather is PU coated, unless very expensive option selected, usually available only on S class.
