Seats from W124 230e into a 190e - possible?

Title says it all really.

Could I put my 1990 W124 leather interior/seats into a 1992 190e?

Anybody tried?

I know someone who tried and failed. The 124 seats are just to wide to fit into the smaller 201.

I gave it a go a few years ago, yes a tad too wide.
