Hi this is my first posting on this forum. My car is a 560 SEC 1989.
I’ve owned the car for a few months now and I am working my way through the problems it has.

The problem I need advice on is:
When turning right on a roundabout, bend or junction a grating noise can be heard coming from the N.S.R? I suspected wheel bearings or worn trailing arm bushes causing compression of the drive shaft CV joints? When powering around bends the noise becomes a lot worse.

The noise appeared after the rear self levelling suspension was replaced with new coils and dampers by a local garage. I took the car back to them but they could not identify the cause. The car was taken to a second garage for more repairs; they could not identify the cause of the noise either.

Thanks for the only reply, its not that kind of noise. Im an electrical Mecanical engineer and not bad at fault finding, but Im unfamiliar with the atonomy of this car and it wont fit in the garage. Tut.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Looks like you need someone with previous experience on Mercedes SLS.

Give Ian Walker a ring, Preston 681210, he is in Kirkham.

CHEERS

Its going to be something catching on the driveshafts maybe? I cant see what they could have disturbed.
