Is that in Australia - I don't think that's the case in the UK?

It does apply but in the UK your legal system is tied with court cases between McDonalds and tree-huggers. If anyone wants to test FOI laws then they would find that most organisations use generic comments to defend themselves.

It also means that when you ask for your information about you they can deny service because they dont feel like it and just want to fob you off.
