self leveling suspension

is there any way of checking amount of fluid in the self leveling suspension? it is an e320 avantgarde 1999 estate. the reason i ask is the ride seems hard, harder than my mondeo. i know it is supposed to sit low but 10 mph over speed bump and it catches the top . if it is low on fluid how do i get it pumped?? up ? thanks...

It's a fully automatic system with a reservoir and pump mounted on the power steering pump.
Check the level at the reservoir, if ok the low ride is down to the rear height corrector under the car, if ride height is Ok but the suspension is very hard and bouncy then the spheres are shot.
