Self levelling suspension.

Hi could anybody inform me how to check if my 2000 CLK 320 Avantgarde Cabriolet A208 has self levelling suspension,

I have been looking for rear shocks as the original ones are corroded but still operating fine, I am finding that they list two separate types for the W208 one half the price of the other,would I be right then in thinking that gas shocks are just an after market upgrade or are there two configurations?
I have been told that the Avantgarde and Elegance have different spring ratings so wondered if this could be the difference.

Avantgarde and elegance will have different shocks and springs. The former sits 25mm lower.
