Pipe leak due to corrosion. Its the pipe from sphere going to the rhs strut - or else going to the height control valve. W124 TE Estate 1992, 1997cc engine. All the connectors / joints seem very corroded and unsafe. Most of the fluid has leaked out - car very bounncy etc.and low. Is a Swagelok repair possible ? Any assistance is welcome .

To replace the pipe properly the subframe has to be lowered. I replaced mine with a flexible routed below the subframe. If you have a firm like Pirtek locally it's the easy way out of a big job.

Same here, both my cars had corrosion beside the fuel pump

You could try Cunifer pipework- more corrosion resistant and easier to form into the correct shape.?

^^ that's what i did on mine but as said the subframe is in the way of a lot of the pipework. Personally i blagged use of a ramp* for a long weekend, took a deep breath, dropped the subframe and binned all the crusty old brake, SLS and fuel lines before making new ones out of cunifer. While the subframe is a hefty old lump to drop it's sooooo much easier with it out of the way and a perfect time to scrape off any loose underseal/paint etc and go nuts with stonechip, underbody schutz & cavity wax and deal with anything else in the area

* granted, not a job i'd like to attempt without use of a car lift and not a particulary cheap one if paying someone else to do it

Thanks to Grober and Hot Rodder - both very helpful.
