Sell or Garage It? Advice sought.

Bought my first MB in September of this year. An 04 e class 270 CDi estate. Having spent a few hundred pounds on some electrical repairs it really has lived up to everything I thought a Mercedes would be. An absolute pleasure to drive and I actually look forward now to my daily one hour trip each way to work and back. I have been offered a 6 month work contract in Mallorca next year from May until end of September which is too good to turn down but I'm in a bit of a quandary as to what to do with the car. Could it be put off road for such a lengthy period without developing major mechanical problems etc which would prove costly to put right or would I be safer off selling it before I go, my least favoured of the 2 options?

If it's just six months garage it. Perhaps get someone to start it once a month, then oil change when you get back and off you go.

Garage it. Get someone to carefully jack it up to take the weight off the tyres. Put some extra air in the tyres. Battery on a battery tender. (disconnected, and hopefully away from car) Oil and filter change on return.

Stick it in a dry garage, leave the handbrake off, disconnect the battery and forget about it. It'll be fine and raring to go once you come back.

I wintered my old Fiat Barchetta 3 times doing nothing more than the above, and that was a 17 year old Italian car. I used to park it up in October/November and bring it out blinking in the sunshine about Easter time. Shoo out the spiders, connect the battery and brum.. ready for another summer. The Merc will have no problems..

May to September? You wont even need to garage it for such a short stand in the summer.
