Having to sell my beloved E350 Estate due to ULEZ hitting most of London in October. Probably going to P/Ex it but if so is it worth me forking out for a service (A1 is coming up on the dash) and getting the wheels refurbed or will the dealer not care? Also, I have a Brabus D6 box on the car fitted by Mercedes when I bought it 10 years ago. Should I get this removed - do these boxes sell on the second hand market?

I agree. I got my last car serviced and some stone chips done prior to changing it - made no difference, still got offered the same money for it.

I’ve only bought one car brand new, a Honda Civic type R, when I came to Px for a Mercedes the salesman didn’t even look at it, typed in the Reg No. and said that’s all it’s worth. I had spent all day polishing it.

The sad thing is that the dealer generally won't care. Despite all of their pressure to maintain a service history with them it makes hardly any difference when it comes to px (slightly different if car is only a year or two old); as others have said, it tends to be a book price unless it's a 'specialist' car at a specialist dealer.

Post up details of the car :)

Just part-ex'd my Audi into Mercedes this week. I asked for a price with the alloys repaired & a price without doing them. It was £100 difference, friend of mine could of repaired them for £90 but not worth the time or effort

The dealer is going to push a 10 year old car down the trade food chain fast. He gets cash and no comebacks.
As said, a private buyer will want great history, maybe not to bothered about scuffed wheels as long as the price allows them to refurb.
