Hi All,

I have my iphone paired with the car via bluetooth, but just cannot get my contacts from the phone to the car.

I've sat in the car for hours messing with bluetooth and the phone etc but cannot get my contacts list into the car system.

Can Iphone contacts be sent to the car or not?
Any advice, hints and tips welcome.

Car is a C350 2010 model.

Cheers!

I don't think you can send contacts through Bluetooth with an iPhone on a C Class. What I did was, I bluetoothed all my contacts from my iPhone to my computer. Then I bluetoothed the contacts from the pc to an old nokia phone I had and then sent my contacts to my C Class using my old nokia.

Thaks for that, that seems to make sense - i will give it a go.
Cheers........

I believe it is something to do with how the iphone stores its contacts. Also it wont let you export contacts to the sim so use the method above or connect iphone to the pc by usb and get your contacts that way to copy to another phone.

If your iphone is jailbroken there is a 3rd party app that lets you export direct to your sim but IIRC it only works on the original iphone not 3G / 3GS.

Is this not the same as the E350 comand?
On mine after the phone is connected via bluetooth I click telephone then import contacts and it just does it?

I have Audio 20 and i can do it no problem.

Once the stereo and phone is paired up, i select the import contact list via the stereo and it does everything itself.

That is right. The iPhone does not store their contacts in VCard format which sucks big time.

Do you have pre-telephone wiring with your Audio 20?

Also, if you have COMMAND, you can also transfer your contacts using the PCIM Card slot.

Nope, just the standard kit with bluetooth connection to the stereo

The latest audio 20 units found in MY2009 > cars have full bluetooth built in so dont require telephone pre-wire and a seperate cradle.

Since I have only transferred 'some' of my contacts via my tedious method, can you be so kind for me to show me what you did step by step in order to send contacts from the iPhone to the car?

As Taniban said, a step by step guide would be good on this.

My phone pairs with the car straight away but when you choose import business cards, nothing happens. Tried it over and over but it just wont work.

Post #2 had a step-by-step guide, perhaps you are after a simpler option if it exists?

Was your tedious method different from post #2, at least you seem to have tried that?

I guess the additional step with an old (a new would do as well :D ) Nokia can actually be omitted, I've never tried but it should be possible to send contacts from a laptop too (or would that be restricted to one entry at a time, laptops may not support the BT phone book download profile).

Diesel Benz, I have tried to pair my laptop with the car but unfortunately I couldn't pair them together. Chris Akabusi said he could add contacts with his iPhone normally whereas newbow and I couldn't. I had to resort to using my old old phone to add contacts instead.

just figured it out. iPhone won't do it. used macbook instead(pc should do it too) went to contacts on macbook highlighted all exported to v card then used macbook paired it with car. then clicked bluetooth icon on mac, send file, found vcard contacts and BOOM they all sent. took me ages but finally done it
