Service D - what does it include??

Hi all,
Can someone please help me? My '02 w211 e220 CDI shows service D due in a few hundred kilometers. Just bought this 211 so I am new to this. Please help.

Never heard of service D or C for that matter. It maybe something specific to your country, propbably best to contact your local dealer.

IIRC the service type on the W211 refers to the length of time required for the service tasks and not a specific service type. The service tasks can be accessed through the menu on the cluster.

I had Service D a couple of times on my previous W211 - there was also a post on here a good while back that explained it but can't find it now.

Had a D service last time out on my 211. Indicator has now reverted to A. IIRC the D service included pretty much everything including an application form for a new mortgage...

thank you all. I've been trying to find any posts related to service D. The manual states that the services are from A all the way to H - I guess I'll go to a dealer here and get the required info and post back.

The service letters A through H give an approximate idea of how many hours the service will take (the number of hours bumps up by 1 with each increase of letter).

update - I checked on the service menu on my car and it says service 1, 13 and 15 are due. Service 13 I understand is oil/filter change. Any ideas what are service 1 and 15? Thanks.

You should find the info from this thread. Browse through the whole thread, a few pdf-documents included, the service sheet has changed over years too.
