On collection Comand in my E320 CDi Estate said "Service B in 10,650ish miles"

With 6,150 miles on the clock it's now stating "Service C in 6,454 miles".

Seems unusual to say the least !

Any one know why and/or what they cost typically ?

:(

It is most likely working to a default of 20,000km service interval (12,500 miles) and counts down to the next service by reference to the way it is driven, time elapsed and an oil quality sensor. So it can be less than a direct relationship to miles driven.

Cost? Ah, that does seem to vary!

I've just had a service and after being reset the next service was due at 10,000 miles. Since I rack up the miles quickly it counts down at less miles than I do (if that makes sense). So after 1,000 miles since the service the counter has only reduced by 700 miles to 9,300 miles next service due.

Last time round I think I was at about 13,000 miles between services but decided not to push it beyond 12,000 miles.

My last B service cost about £650 all in but that did include 16 spark plugs.
