Hi
Been thinking for a while and may go for it over the next days or week.

I bought the car new in April 2016 a gle 250d amgline. Shes don'e about 15400 miles as we have several cars and i used this for work but left work the year after buying
and been on a world tour for 4 months and cam back 1st week of March so car has hardly been driven since last service in July 2019 about 2k miles.
I get her serviced just under 13 month to keep the mobilo or whatever its called and plan to have her serviced late July.

It will be the B service and next years its the ATF as well - I was going to change the car but money down the drain as the car is a one driver looks drives like new so keeping her for 2/3 yrs and have a independent warranty for 3 yrs.

Been reading the service plans and mine will work out approx 1570 i think 3 years and 3 services - will work out 7 to 900 cheaper compared to a london MB stand alone price. - my questions:

Will mobilo be included and if my car broke down and taken to MB will I get a courtesy car FoC if car can't be repaired?

The services inc the standard and additional servicing within the agree mileage, is that correct? ( B service this time, 5th year an A serv plus auto box then B service)

I am going to pay in one go - my understanding is the plan is transferable is that correct and do I have the option for money back? (may consider the monthly payments but i hate them)

Any other advantages or pitfalls, please?

PS - Ad Blue is not inc, am I correct but mum lives towards coast an MB near her place does inc FoC ad blue, so i could negotiate i guess but is it included, please - thanks again

PPS: I need the car looked at as well as it's got a recall from several months ago something to do with emissions

The MB Service Care Plan will cover all additional items that are replaced based on time and/or mileage, and are due according to ESS at the time of the service. These include air filter, fuel filter, pollen filter, brake fluid, ATF, pano roof lubricant (if fitted), and spark plugs (if petrol). See also: Mercedes-Benz UK | Electronic Service Sheet

It will not cover items that are replaced based on condition and not at fixed time/mileage intervals. These include brakes, exhaust, DPF and cats, tyres, batteries, etc. These are all wear items, but because they are replaced based on condition only, and not at fixed intervals, they are not covered.

What many here do is get the fixed interval servicing done at the dealer under the MB Service Care Plan, then get any wear items or repairs done at their trusted local specialist.

The Mobilo cover and Anti-Perforation Warranty are renewed at the time of the service for one more year. The downside of Mobilo is that it will only get your car recovered to an MB dealer, but not to the garage of your choosing e.g. specialist. On the plus side the cover is worldwide which is useful if you travel with the car to the Continent. With regards courtesy car, you'll have to check the current T&Cs online because they change from time to time.

The MB Service Care Plan can be transferred to another car, or canceled against partial refund (they will take into account any services that you already had). The price is the same whether paying in installment or paying upfront, so if you are thinking about selling the car then installment might be the better option, as you will owe - or be owed - less money at the time of cancelation.

Thank you both, appreciated.

My car is now overdue for its first A service due to the pandemic and is still stranded in France (it was due 19th March). I have now booked the car into my local French MB dealer for its A service on 3rd July. I would then like to take out a 4 year service plan in UK starting with the B service in July 2021. Do I start my monthly payments from July this year after the A service is completed, or leave it till later in the year or when the B service becomes due next year??

The monthly payments and the timing of the services are unrelated.

In effect you are buying an X number of services, and paying for them in Y installments. You can take your X number of services whenever you like.

If your first service is quite close, they may ask you to pay for four services over three years, or three services over two years so you don't have your last service and still owe almost a year of payments. I took a three year service plan out this week.

I paid for the plan on the day of the service.

Hi Markjay, what I am asking is do I have to have 12 payments "in the bank" before I can use the first of the 4 services?

kc
As above.

They will check your credit score and you will sign a credit agreement.

It's no different in essence to buying a sofa at DFS....
