Under certain circumstances, simultaneous application of the brake and
accelerator pedal (e.g., two footed driving) will result in the engine ECU
returning the actuator to the
idle position.

Upon release of the brake pedal and/or application of the accelerator
pedal, there is a 1-2 second delay until the actuator moves to the new
accelerator pedal input position.
This delay is integrated in the ECU as a safety feature to provide smoother
acceleration during actuator transition from idle and to minimize any
sudden surges that might result from the release of the brake after
simultaneous brake and accelerator application that may startle a driver.
It is not subject to modification in the field.

A driver that simultaneously applies the brake and accelerator pedals may
experience this scenario, especially when driving in stop and go traffic.
In case of customer complaints, explain that this is a design
characteristic incorporated in the engine management system as a safety
feature.

17/96-3 GROUP 46 - ALLOY WHEELS, CLEAR COAT CRACKING: We have received inquiries regarding cracks in the clear coat on alloy wheels. This is caused by the use of alloy wheel cleaners containing low molecular weight alcohols (ethyl. isopropyl. etc.). Please inform all dealership personnel and owners that these damages are not covered by the Mercedes-Benz limited warranty. Only the MBNA approved alloy wheel cleaner products are to be used
