New S class cdi & Sl 55 AMG
I have a new style s class 320 cdi. It ahs done 72,000 miles with the next service due at around 81,000. It will require a C service. I have been used to A & B services before but this is new one on me.
Can anyone advise on the requirements for a C service?
Given the increasing cost of the local dealer I am looking for an independant in the Shropshire area any experiance anyone?

Mitch

Have a look in the service book and it will tell you in there. Different things are replaced at different miliages and the cars age is taken into consideration.

Another pilgrim approaches the wild and whacky altar of Assyst +.

Your car gives a code A to H. This bascically gives an indication of how much finance you'll need to raise to get your car through its service. It's a rough indication of the number of hours the car thinks it will need with the dealer. A means at least 1, B at least 2, and so on.

Now if you go to the site:

Mercedes-Benz ESS

You can enter details and get a MB service sheet for your car. This will refer to an A or B service plus mileage/age extras. The A and B are the traditional MB one spanner/two spanner or minor/major services. They have nothing to do with the letter on your service indicator.

I'm guessing your car is actually due an A with mileage/age based extras.

This site merely repeats what is in the service schedule, does it not?
It does not appear to have regard to what has actually been done and or logged on to MB`s system.

I'm assuming it expects the correct schedule will have been followed before this point

Correct.

Thanks for your advice. As you say its not always very clear. I found this out when checking the cost of a A service on the to be purchased SL 55 AMG. The cost £1,800 !! New plugs all the oils to be replaced - gearbox, axle etc. Good job I checked before buying the car - the previous owner paid for it. It's this type if thing the dealer seems to know but it comes as a surprise to the owner.

Yes its been fully serviced as required. The reason I ask is the shock I had when booking in my SL in for an A service - £1800! I found out its standard practice for this model to change all the plugs and all oils and liquids hence the cost.
