Not sure which springs I need exactly.

It's a Late 1998, S Registered C200 Classic, Facelift.

I need two new front springs as, I bought a cheap one to replace a snapped original and it's too soft, giving me quite a few problems.

So a Matched pair would be nice.

Looking for some with the paint still on as once the paint has flaked, the resulting rust snaps the spring.

I think the 1998 Facelift brought a firmer ride over the Elegance/Classic Models Prior to 1998, I could be wrong.

Many Thanks.

Get hem new from MB. Just quote them your chassis number and they will order you a set as they are chassis specific. They are only £50 each or so.

Have you considered a set of lowering springs?

Olly is it best for go for a Bilstein springs and shocks set or go for a specific combination of lowering springs and shocks.

I have 2 choices either:
1. Bilstein B12 - which I know will cost 500 pound for the set plus fitting.
2. Go for Sport Springs with OEM shocks.

Which would you recommend?

Lowering Springs?

Wouldn't I have to declare that as a modification on my insurance?

I would go the B12 kit. It is so so good.

Yes but it will make little difference to the cost.
