Setting speed limiter C180

I have a C180 Blue Efficiency 2012. I know how to use the cruise control but, given the crazed 20 mph limits now replacing 30 mph in Wales, I am trying to set the speed limiter to 20mph. It has the controls on a stalk below the multifunction stick on the left of the steering wheel, not on the wheel as with more modern cars.

I have read the manual and all I see is to press the button on the stalk to switch between cruise and speed limiter. If the light is on, then it is in limiter mode. What then? Do I push the stalk up to set, forward to cancel and pull back to resume as with the cruise?

I know this will seem a silly question to some but I have never had occasion to use the limiter before.

Thanks

It's exactly as you described it.

Youll also see the part of the speedometer that it limited light-up to indicate that the car is speed limited.

Also, Kickdown on the accelerator will reset it and cancel the speed limiter.

That been said, there's usually a minimum speed that's a prerequisite for the speed limiter to operate - e.g. 30mph - check the manual - or try it first on a fast road - i.e. it might not be possible to set the speed limit to 20mph, but I'm not sure.

It is certainly possible to set cruise at 21/22 mph , I’ve never used the limiter at those speeds though (or at all)

A thousand thanks for this. It really is madness to have to travel at such speeds for example, in the open countryside 500 mts before a village which used to be a 30 mph. Locals I have spoken with all say they have tried travelling at 20 mph on open roads and those without a limiter are sure they will be caught out. "Sorry I ran over your dog, I was checking my speedo."

The manual says it is not possible to set the limiter below 30 Kmph which is 18mph. Does it cancel if I hit the button on the end of the stalk?
