shaking engine??

Hi all,

As some (most) of you know, I had a few issues with knocking engine etc (think it's down to combustion rattle). Anyway, I've been feeding her veggie oil, so I don't know if the shaking engine/spitting manifold is down to this.

On idle, the engine shakes as if to make the whole body resonate and makes the car do a little wobbly dance. The exhaust rattles too. It's either the mounting of something else is weird? Damper (which could explain a the previous issue).

It certainly sounds like your engine mounts need replacing.

When I did mine it felt like a new car.

Same with the CL. The old ones where nearly half the size of the new ones.

+2 One of the most overlooked item, this and tranny mounts, specially with diesels.. Significant difference when replaced.

It is a big job? I presume they are quite expensive parts.

Don't know with the W202. The W215 mounts where £ 76.00 each + VAT and four hours fitting with the Gearbox mount £ 30.90.

As it is an AMG I'm sure they are twice as much !!
