'21 C300 Coupe, '20 SLC Final Edition, Peugeot 208 (hers!) and a new Ford Kuga in Russia
I'm almost ashamed to admit that I tried a VW Passat CC the other day (170bhp, GT spec, full leather etc) and......

...really liked it!

Sort of junior league CLS, but more practical and way cheaper to own... :(

Anyway, time to think! Any views on this car guys?

Yes it looks nice. Still a 4 pot diesel FWD car though with a VW badge on the front.

My business partner gave me several lifts in Switzerland in his CLS 350. Lovely car, fitted like a glove. Don't waver now....

:D Yes, CLS is way better.... but CC is nicer than I thought. :)

Is there not a petrol version ? Maybe with a V6 ?

I quite like them, they do look smart and have a generous kit list too. I'm trying to encourage my sister to get one as her company car (although she would prefer an E Class Coupe) the CC is great value.

There is, it's a 3.6 and it turns out about 300bhp
An old friend of mine had a standard Passat, almost indistinguishable from an A6, huge, rather boring, high quality finish and a firm but comfortable ride.
I'd imagine a V6 CC would be better all round

It looks like a Peugeot 407 from the side.

I like the look of the car, but I am sure that Honest John said in the Telegraph this week that he couldn't recommend anyone to buy one because of all the owners' reports of problems. I would check that out first.

In the past I've had VW's (Passat), Audi's, Fords, Vauxhalls, Renaults, Nissans all of various ages from new to 5 years old and none with high mileage. My E Class which is now 7 years old and at the time of purchase last year became the oldest car I have ever owned and the highest mileage car I have ever owned stands head and shoulders above all of these on so many levels that I wouldn't even consider a car like this anymore.

It isn't perfect, but when it eventually comes to trading it in I'm pretty sure more of the same (E, CLS, E coupe) is what I'll be going for, even if that means having to go for something older/higher mileage than I could get with other marques.

Just my 2p's worth

I really like the passat cc , infact it would be the only car I have seen that would make me consider changing from Mercedes , however the fact its only a 4 seater makes it inpractial form me to own as we have 3 kids .

how is it more practical?

why have a burger if you can have steak?

But that's like saying you wanted a holiday in Cannes, but Scunthorpe didn't look so bad on the one sunny day in the year...:)

Wow! Scunthorpe! You got Scunthorpe past the swear filter!!

Good news! They are now 5 seats.

The Passat CC is nice. Very nice.
But I have to say the CLS is stunning.
I'm sure you would regret it. I know that I would.

they are lovely cars - cost a lot more - like for liks(ish) than the c220 Cdi sport that I ended up with - and much rarer too - else I'd have one!

better put together and with much nicer materials imo - lovely.

Don't larger VWs depreciate horrifically? If considering buying new... Used though, and reap that benefit?

Take it from somebody who lives there. On that one day, it still doesn't. ;)
Buy the CLS BP, if you don't you will regret it.
