I

Not completely clued-up on the A-class but that looks more like a B to me!

It is actually a shonky chinese copy of a B class not a modified original.

Auto Express say this is the new A-Class.

Me likey :)

The more I look at it, the more I think it looks like a continuation of the BMW Z4 coupe, the 'flame' theme Chris Bangle was obsessed with and BMW decided to start dropping from their design themes.

My missus mentioned the other day about the Jag XJ/XF, they look nice, but if one's bearing down on you and you didn't see the badge, from most angles you wouldn't think... ohh its a jag. There's no inherent jag design.

I think this is the case with this new Merc A class. It looks like a swoopy lexus/ toyota/ mazda (furai type) with a Merc propeller grille. I like it, but I don't find it Merc-y.

The Shanghai Auto Show continues to whether even a week later and as shown here we show the BAIC C301 , a model based in part on the Mercedes Class B , but yes, limited to Chinese soil (where Mercedes and Beijing have Automobe alliance to produce vehicles).

The BC301 BAIC cosmetically receives regarding its German sister to try to win some personality and distance. But except in the rear, with redesigned optical and gate rather, the rest of the vehicle can not hide the outlines. In the cabin goes something like and dashboard follows the guidelines of the original, but with a center console that launches controls for air conditioning and a sound system they developed themselves.

It has nothing to do are the engines, a 1.3i 16v of 99 hp and a 1.5i 16v with 113 CV, were both from Mitsubishi. The main novelty with respect to Class B is that the BAIC BC301 can be purchased with sedan body, which is unusual given that derives from a van (christened BC302).

They are also going to do a "B Class" Booted Saloon. Wierd kinda like a ford Orion.
