Need some advice on this for a family member. He is not a trader but has accumulated shares from his previous employment. They were transferred from paper certificates to Natwest Stockbrokers who eventually closed their services. It was then (automatically) transferred to TDD Investments (or similar) and all was well until they were transferred again due to being bought out or folding.

Now, the new company II (Interactive Investor) charge a fee of £22.50 a quarter where as all of the previous companies were free unless you made a trade. Fee would be fine if he was trading but he only collects the dividends bi-annually so £90 a year is a bit much.

Does anyone here use any or know of a good fee free trading platform? I don't know too much about them and searching on Google isn't much help as there are so many. Thanks
