The attcahed pictures show the shift rod selector leaking on my recently purchased C280.
It's not leaking at the connection to the automatic transmission, but where the plastic meets the rubber in the pictures.
The service history says that Carlube ATF-Q was used for the ATF change last year. Is this recommended stuff? Could the viscosity of the fluid be the cause of is this leak, or just the result of an o-ring failure?
It looks like a massive job to change out this component, so I'm just seeking advice on how to solve this without disburbing the transmission too much. The drive is completely unaffected, although ATF might run low eventually.
Thank you.
