Hi there, just waiting for Friday to come round and trade my Freelander 2 in for a 63 plate C220 AMG Sport Estate.

We used to have an A190 but the least said about that the better.

Hi, just got my GLA45 amg, yesterday, If you enjoy yours as much as I'm enjoying mine , you will be happy, And welcome to MBclub.

Welcome.

I have a C180 (petrol) saloon of same model year.

Enjoy!

Also... assuming you car is automatic, then this year it will be due an ATF and filter change, which can be quite expensive. If the ATF change has not been done yet, then I suggest that you look at taking-out a Mercedes Benz Service Care Plan to cover the next 2 or 3 services, which will reduce the overall cost of these services (including the ATF change).

So looking at that they want £35/month for either 2 or 3 years on the assumption that I'll do 15,000 a year and therefore need one service per year. Does that reduce the cost of the service to nothing or just get me a reduction?

The quote they give you does factor in your annual mileage, I took out a new service plan when I picked up my new C250d which is based on 10,000 miles per year and mine came out at £35 a month, there isn't a difference in price for 10,000 and 15,000 miles, obviously because you'd only require one service a year for both. £35 a month is more or less the right price for an C Class.

I'd also recommend taking out one sooner rather than later as I was told if you wait a month or two there may be shortfall for your first service (due to the month or two you've missed paying into the plan).

The way it works is that you pay for either 2 or 3 services.

When you book the car in, the dealer will carry-out everything that is flagged-up here:

Mercedes-Benz ESS

And there will be no chrage to you at the point of delivery (i.e. you pay nothing to the dealer).

So you pay a fixed monthly fee, but the value of what you receive varies depending on what service items fall due at the time when the car is being serviced.

If your car is due its 5th service this year, then it will need a Service A ('minor' service) and ATF and filter change. Next year it will need a Service B ('major' service) and brake fluid change. The following year it will need a Service A ('minor' service) again and air filter (possibly also fuel filter).

For this reason, if your car has not yet had its 5th service and ATF change this year, then a Service Care Plan will work-out cheaper than paying for the service plus ATF change directly.

If your car already had its ATF changed, then there will still be some savings with the Service Care Plan, thought it will not be as much.

Another option would be to find a good independent specialist and just get the car serviced there. You will lose-out on the Mobilo roadside assistance and anti-rust warranty (both of which get renewed automatically for one year whenever the car is being serviced by an MB dealer), but you will gain a much more personal service from someone who knows your car.

I think I need to look into this a bit more closely, I may be wrong but I think it's only had 3 services.
