Should all W210 E55 wheels have polished lips?

I've had two E55's, both in silver. The first one all 5 wheels were painted completely silver right to the tyres. The second one all 4 wheels on the car were painted silver but now I look at the spare wheel, it's got a diamond cut finish, and I'm wondering if they should all be like that.

Did they all come from the factory with diamond cut lips and dish on the wheels?

The spare has a silver painted centre by the way, it's just the outer that's polished, like THIS.....

I believe they all should have diamond cut lips, but due to the nature & maintenance of diamond cut, a lot of people don't have them re-cut when refurbishing the wheels. I may be wrong though.

Yes unfortunately most diamond cut wheels fall foul of corrosion, it's expensive to have them re cut and lacquered and are guaranteed to go the same way.

they can only be diamond cut a number of times, diamond cut finish does look the best tho.
