Sorry for what may seem like a dumb question, but should I be using comfort or sport in my W211 E63

I know that "C" sets of in 2nd gear etc., but is there any lasting damage if I use this all the time??

Thanks

In an E63 use C mode if you want to live and keep your licence, S mode if you are looking to go back to the future or wish to open up a worm hole !

I'm a C too, and agree that the cars can run on either for 250,000+.

But are you really using "S" on Jersey. "Bergerac country?"

Or is this for when you're on the Mainland?

There is a nice straight road called the 5 mile road on Jersey, plenty long enough to use as a drag strip, unfortunately it has a speed limit of 30 or 40 mph on it , memory is failing as it's 5 years since I lived in Jersey.

C for pottering around town/slow moving flow. S for having a bit of fun and to clear the cobwebs. Exhaust note is rather amplified in S. Great to have the options. :D

When wifey's in the car, I use 'C' mode. When she's not, I usually use 'S' mode. :)

As above, except if I want to annoy her.

IMO there is not one mode that fits all.

It depends on where and why I am driving (newer cars have 5 modes o_O). I use the economy modes on long trips etc. On windy-roads where it is safe for more spirited driving the more sporty modes.

In tunnels - always 'S+'.:):D

Well I use C mode because I am dissatisfied with the standard S mode I am waiting for the SS super sport mode, this will be more in keeping with my amazing driving style.

Rory you are right, as so often. I took your advice on SL400 in a different thread and collected my 2016 car today - absolutely superb!

Friend of mine picked up a similar SL 400 last week, looks really beautiful ( but still does not have a V8 ) so am not too jealous
