After some advice, my other half's Seat Ibiza is pretty knackered (it is a hateful thing!) and we have been offered a 2006 A150 Classic for a really good price and I don't know a lot about it, except that I love my C270cdi so would welcome another MB in the family.

Anyone got any opinions on these?
The one I have been offered has full service history but high mileage 150k

Would we be better off with an older Focus etc?

Many thanks:dk:

Its from a family friend £1500

I have a 2006 A200 CDi and love it. Roomy, comfortable, nippy and very economical. Have had no reliability problems over the last 4 years. At that price, go for it. Regards, Jeff

The W169 (post 2004) A Class has a good reputation for reliability. The only issue I know about is rusting at door bottoms which was fixed by a new design which came in, I think, in 2007.

Long as it's not an auto. A class can be expensive to repair minor faults due to the inaccessible location of some components in the event of anything going wrong . It's a small car but don't expect small car repair prices- its a Mercedes.
A 7 year old car with 150K on the clock means the odds that it will require an expensive repair/s soon must be increasing. Could be a bargain or a money pit the odds are on the latter so I wouldn't touch it.

Ok so I have booked it into my local MB specialist Mercare in Plymouth who are going to give me a mechanical opinion. Then I may take a punt depending on what it needs.

Did you get it?
