Hi all, to explain the situation first. I bought a W212 back in November 2015 from a sponsored trader with the condition that the rear bumper would be repaired as it had depression marks/ripples in the plastic bumper. Now ive only just got round to returning the car to them this month as ive been working abroad. They took it back no problem as we agreed and sent it to a body shop they work with. Now after picking up the car and washing it myself i have noticed the following, pin drops in the paint, drip marks, primer over spray and general dullness. I am being too picky as this was done free of charge or should i take it back as i cant stop looking at it now i know its there? Your thoughts please...:(

 Did they use your car for a rookie to practice with? That dribble is severe!

I would not accept that on any car, Deffo return it straight away, in fact I would have pointed these flaws up at the time of collection.

I can get better results from a rattle can.

It was not done FOC, it was a condition of the sale...take it back.

Thanks for the advice guys, i guess the issue is with the body shop they use and not the trader. i just get the feeling they are not too insterested as the car is sold. I mean the car wasn't even washed, i'd expect them to wash the whole car if the bumper is being painted.

Doesn't look up to scratch, but personally I wouldn't post about it on here if the car was mine.
I'd just take it back to the outfit I bought it from. I don't think they would argue against putting things right.

Thing is that someone has been paid to do that.
Do you think they said we can do it right for one price or we can do it wrong for half the money?
I'm sure that there was one price given & that was to do it right.
Send it back

As above.

The trader will take it back to the body shop and they'll put it right.

Problems do occur when painting and body shops know they sometime have to redo jobs.

But it's an annoying waste of time for the owner.

Little update! Took the car back today and hopfully it will all be rectified in a few days, fingers crossed :)

Take it back. Free or not they have agreed to do you a job not mess up your paint. If left, it could be a walk away point for potential buyers in the future should you ever decide to sell down the road.

Sad that a bodyshop thought it Ok to hand over a job like that to a customer. Hope you get it sorted.

I have had it before with previous cars but they are usually quick to rectify if you take it back to them. The worst are smart repair companies that do the work outside instead of in a body shop resulting in grit and dirt in the paint as well as dreaded overspray. I do find it hard to believe that dealers still use them on their forecourt cars that they sell for top whack.

Very true, i fear that may have initially happened to mine.
