Hi..
When fitting suspension bushes, would I be correct in thinking that they should NOT be tightened up until the car is back on its wheels and the suspension is loaded onto its normal position..
To my mind if you tighten them up with the wheels dangling then you pre twist the rubber to an unatural amount.. I cant imagine that this would do the longevity of the bush any good at all..
I had suspension geometry work done recently and I noticed he didnt bother to settle the car on its wheels before toghtening up the bush bolts..
Yesterday I released the bolts with the car on its wheels and you could hear and feel the bush unwind and relax..
The common sense part of me says my theory is correct..
BUT.. Is it correct ??
Thanks in advance..
