Silly question. The first of many?

I had a test drive in an E320 cdi on a 05 plate today and there was more travel on the accelerator pedal than I'm accustomed to before the revs picked up. Is this normal for a Mercedes? It was the 3.2l not the 3l v6 incase this makes any difference.

Very hard to answer without knowing what you are used to...Is it actually pedal travel you are noticing or slower engine pick up? Is your regular drive a turbo diesel? They can feel quite different from a normally aspirated petrol especially on pick up.

For those who like a sharper pedal response I believe there is something called 'sprintbooster' which has a number of fans on here. From the many threads on it a little while back I gather that it doesn't actually make the car any quicker but it does give you the effect of lead lined boots without the effort of actually wearing them...
