Im looking to sell the LPG kit I bought about a year ago for my 500SEL .

The kit came off a 420SEL owned by Mr S on the forum , so all the pipework is the right length for a LWB 126 , although it could be adapted to fit other cars . I should imagine it will fit quite a lot of MB cars from the 70's/80's with single point fuel injection .

There is a 77L toroidal tank to fit in the spare wheel well , the filler nozzle , all the wiring and pipework and the regulator/vapouriser ( which is an OML unit ) . I also have the installation manual for the kit .

I also have a spare bracket and socket for the fuel pump relay on a W126 - I got this out of a scrap car so that I could avoid cutting the loom on my car as had been done on the donor car I got the kit out of : the idea being to make a short extension to the loom , incorporating the wiring to the kit , which would plug into the relay socket on the car and then plug the relay into the new socket .

The reason I'm selling this is that , since getting the Diesel S203 , I now have a reasonably economical car to use day to day , even if it is a bit of a yawn compared to the 500 , so rather than modify the 500 , I'm going to keep it as a fun car to be used on nice summer days and with the reduced mileage on it , I'm not so worried about fuel economy .

I'm just looking to recoup what I paid for the kit last year which , from memory , was £250 .

I have some pictures of the kit as it was installed in Mr S's 420 , so I will post these when I find them .

I am in North Ayrshire and ideally this should be a collection ( not easy to post because there is one big , heavy bit (the tank) and lots of small , loose and straggly bits ) ; however , if someone from the far south wants it , I'm willing to put it in the back of the S203 and meet halfway for the cost of my Diesel . The tank plus all the other bits should fit in the boot of a normal saloon car .

If interested , please contact me by PM .
