Number 2 son has put 2 dents in the osr door of his 2008 Skoda Fabia.
Before we investigate dent repair & re-painting, I'd like to look at the option of a new door.

I've tried Euro Car parts, but door not listed. I've tried Google but my searches don't bring up the right results.

Can anyone advise where I can get a price on-line for a new door please.

Is he a member of the Briskoda.net forum? Someone on there will know.

If he isn't, and doesn't want to join, I'll happily ask on his behalf. They have a few dealerships that regularly contribute.

Imperial Automotive in Doncaster do most crash repair panels and they are good quality, sorry not at home so dont have details but Google should help.

I'd hapily take a used panel, with a preference for Red

That's one of the sites that came up in my google search - but they don't seem to list doors:confused:

57 views, no replies. Sorry.

Thanks.
He hasn't started thinking about repairs to his.
Apparently the other car, which he claimed he only just scratched, needs a £500 repair:eek:
I don't think his "scratched" description is entirely honest.
So he has to deal with that first before he sorts his own damage.

Checked there already, but there was a facelift in 2007 so I'm not sure 55 reg doors will fit a 58 reg car.

Not a facelift, a completely new car, so nothing will fit.

Thanks.

Just the reason why new drivers should invest in a banger as their first car.

I had several in short succession, which all died for one reason or another.

He had use of Citroen C2 before this one.
He "modified" that in a similar way. I thought he had learnt his lesson:wallbash:

Finally, a replacement red door sourced from a breaker, just under £100 delivered. Door has a minor (bearly noticable) ding in it, but he is happy.
3 queries:-
1) The replacement door has come with glass in the quarterlight. The glass is clear, his is tinted. How easy is it to swap the glass over or is it a specialist job?
2) His door has a rubbing strip the replacement doesn't. I think the rubbing strip is fixed with some sort of double sided tape. Is it sensible to try to remove his rubbing strip to re-attach to the replacement door or buy new? Can the double sided tape be bought easily?
3) I haven't looked at the mechnism properly yet so this may be a stupid question. The replacement door has a black handle, his is body coloured. The black handle is damaged - looks like the scrapyard has tried to remove it & failed. Is there usually a problem removing handles?

Without sight of the door it is hard to comment on glass replacement , but generally it is a matter of removing the main window glass , then the guide channel between the main glass and the quarter light , which should then come out .

The handle may well be part of the lock mechanism and may need to be swapped in its entirety - again , not a problem if the door is stripped down and glass out .

PS - might a Volkswagen door have fitted ?

Might be a good idea to swap anyway, otherwise would Central Locking work?
