Can anyone Help my boot is stuck closed, I have tried the emergency key'

The battery was was removed for charging and the boot closed and now I cant get into the boot'

is the lock only electric. or is the emergency key mechanical? if electrical anyway to inject 12volts into the boot harness
I am sure I read about it a couple years ago but cant find anything on this problem now.

Any suggestions?

What happens when you use the emergency key?

Does it turn 'fully?" Mechanisms can get dirty and not turn fully. It might be worth trying to lubricate the key / lock with the usual lubricants: WD40 etc.

From memory, the key should turn 90 degrees (from North/South to East/West.

Do you have a jump start positive connection under the bonnet? If so, connect your battery to it and earth and you should be able to open the boot.

Do you have a CTEK quick fit connector to your POS/NEG terminal in your engine room?
If you connect a CTEK charger and use supply option could you then open boot?

Be careful................I am not saying any of the above ideas are wrong BUT SL 350's and batteries are complex.

The key should turn the lock and open the boot. They get frozen through lack of use. As post 2 get some lubrication in there and operate the handle at the same time as turning the key. If it's still stiff use pliers (carefully!) for a better grip. Some effort can be required but unless the connecting rod has come off the boot should open.
