As well documented in and around the Forum, I have had the common problem of intermitent central locking not working and the boot soft lock not locking down at all. By searching thro the Forums I have been able to identify it was indeed the PSE pump, no surprise it was soden wet! As suggested in other threads I took it out and dried it off and left it out the car for a few days.
Thereafter I connected it back up and to my joy the boot softs locks down when closed, all sorted great, almost!!

When I tried to put the roof down the initial drop of the windows happens and then i get an instrument panel warning "Visit Workshop" and the windows raise again into their seals.
My guess is the roof hydraulic pump, but I am wondering if there is a way I can isolate and identify if the pump is the problem?
Or is it a visit to MB garage and stump up the £80 to have it diagnosed?
Thx
Alan

seems a bit too big a coincidence that this happened just after you had the PSE out. To get the PSE out does mean a bit of juggling with the roof pump - worthwhile checking all the electrical connections are secure and that there are no kinks in any of the flexible lines

I would have thought there is moisture inside the pump now also causing the roof issue. Its it not uncommon for the water leaks to damage the PSE and roof pump.

Fair comments guys, so revisited the boot. I had noticed water marks and some rusting on the pump casing at the time.
There are 2 elec connectors which I removed dried out and applied some WD40, and to my extreme relief the roof now works :bannana:

Needless to say I now have the pump, PSE and cables protected by cling film and polythene, plan to seal the rear window.

Many thanks for taking tIme to reply :thumb:
