SL 500 1995 fuel problems

Check for air leaks too. Id be taking the caps off to have a look as well.

also,
whilst driving round the north Circular this morning the ASR light came on and power went, pulled over and restarted the car . the ASR light went off but a dashboard warning light stayed on.
for the remainder of my drive. anyone experienced this and any solutions ? car ran normally after the restart

I have had this happen twice (in 13 years of owning the car), both time the basic module needed replacing, (this is the unit on a 1996 model, that is hidden in the compartment where the diagnostics plug is located in the engine bay)

once i managed to get it going by unsetting the fuses in this basic module and reseating them, but that trick worked for about 6 months

In the end i replaced it (about £250 in materials) and not had the problem since
