SL 500 now that SL65 has landed - dilemma !!

I can do it manually but was hoping it would dip automatically in reverse

It should know what to do ...

My SL500 dips the mirror when i select the passenger mirror and put the car in reverse, does yours not work the same way?

.........Vastly over rated car and as long as SL55's are around, why would anyone invest in its poor cousin?
Keep it, stick it in the back of the garage for old times sake and flirt with it now and again. Never be a classic.

I disagree that the SL500 is over rated and a poor cousin to the SL55. There are many reasons why someone would prefer the 500 over the 55 and vice versa.

Obviously my 21 year old R129 doesn't do it, but I just have one of the seat memories set up to angle both mirrors down. So one button press, which isn't too much of a hardship!
