SL 500, wierd problem with electric seats

2003 SL500, the switches on top of the drivers seat used to move the seat forward and back to get to the storage box, now they don't work, also when I try to recline the drivers seat the whole seat moves forward, it also won't return to the memory positions,

The only way to get the seat to recline is to press the recline and seat rear switches at the same time.

All fuses are ok

Hello Vegnomeat, New to this forum but have had this very same issue this afternoon, even down to the combo of buttons to get seat to recline. Did you solve this problem? Thanks.

Hi, could be the switch, more likely the seat controller, check connection of multiplugs under seat, failing that, go and see someone with STAR Diagnosis, search on here, there are some great specialists who are just as good if not better than main agents.

wiggle the wires under the seat, bet that will sort it... normally does.

Thanks. I spoke to a few people and was told it was an issue with the seat not knowing where it was. The fix was to push it all the way back, all the way forward and all the way backa again to sync it. That fixed it. All sorted now. )

Hello everyone just had the same problem with backrest not reclining put seat all the way back then forward then back all fixed.
