So been onto Jerry who says there's no reason why my car won't gain the same as others have with the SL55 mod and says the ECU should adapt ok without a map alteration so happy days!!

Does anyone know if the E55k air boxes, hoses and y pipe are the same as the SL55k's? They do have differing part numbers I believe but from over the pond I've read they are the same interchangeable items.....? And apparently cheaper.....!!

If that. I can't see Mercedes fitting undersize or constricted air trunking on an AMG model.
It would have been interesting to see actual pressure drop readings, before and after change.

How did the air boxes fix down onto the block elvin?

Had to take the brackets off as they don't line up..They fit well,though I've had to use a cable tie on the left intake until I adapt the clips. Looks an easy enough job..

Overall I'm very happy with the outcome..
