Came to replace the front discs and pads on the SL500 today, so duly popped off to GSF Heathrow to pick up the requisite parts.
Get home, calipers off, old discs off, new discs on, calipers back on. And something clearly isn't right here
The disc is hitting the pad lugs on the calipers, and the pads won't sit down in the caliper for love nor money. Take the disc back off, and the problem is clear...it's too damn small The replacement is 300mm dia, the original is 320.
After a bit of digging, it appears that our SL has the bigger discs (and I'm assuming calipers, although the pad fitment is the same) from the V12 model.
Anyone else come across this sort of thing before?
