SL versions

I appreciate this has probably be done to death but..

if you were to look at a 2011 SL ( pre the new front - I have forgotten the type code ) would you benefit much from going for the slightly cheaper 350 ?? I hear talk of engine issues with the V6 ??

Looking around the 35K bracket price wise..

This is an R231 -

Mercedes-Benz SL Class 3.5 SL350 AMG Sport 2dr

Looks are personal and subjective, but the R231 has a lot of interior improvements and mechanical advances over the R230.

I appreciate the R231 is an improvement in many area's - not so sure about the looks though..

It was the R230 version to possibly get more choice TBH..

At that budget, looking for an R230 specifically I wouldn't bother with the 350 and I go with the 500. There wouldn't be much in it with regard to running costs and it removes any possibly balancer shaft issues that you get with 350 motors (if they are indeed effected).
