sl129 xenon bulb change

Hello all, xenon bulb out on my sl129 2001, book says only dealer change xenon bulbs, as it could be fatal even if lights and ignition turned off?
I know bulbs and ignitors are expensive, parts will be £200 and one hours labour to fix at £193!!!!!!!!!

help please, all comments gratefully received.

Fatal? What a load of rubbish, to do these the cheapest way id suggest disconnecting the headlight and replacing the bulb with an aftermarket xenon bulb, do it for both should cost around £30

Its been a long time since i did a 129 but I'm certain they take d2s bulbs
Check these out, there phillips so excellent quality bulbs.

I got a pair of 6k D2S bulbs of that ebay for £9.99 delivered.

3.34 minutes later they were both changed.

Hello, thanks for info, I used an insulated screw driver to disconnect from the bulb, took longer to move the washer bottle out of the way! change bulbs no problem , just made sure no one could turn lights on it was done I a flash
