Hello.
I haven t been around for ages.
Two babies and an off the road roadster for the last couple of years.
It is a 1999 sl320 wdb1290642f177672 m112943 auto 722.6
The car is garaged but only gets a few runs a year. It has a new correct battery and is connected to a ctek5.0 trickle charger which keeps her alive.
I started the car two weeks ago to find the BAS/ASR dash light on constantly. For no apparent readon. The car drove beautifully with the light on. Nothing 'seems' wrong but obviously there is.
I replaced the cheap option brake light switch and no difference.I tested the old switch which is operating correctly.
I know the manual reset of locking left and right and the dash light remains.
I got my auto electrician to scan for codes, clear them and the same two remain:
C1000 - control module N48
C1332 - BAS solenoid valve A7/7y1
N48 is p/n A0275457232 and I don t know if the A7/7y1 solenoid part can be replaced or fixed?
That's if those parts are broken...or maybe a malfunction shows up as c1000 and c1332 but it's source is elsewhere?
What will i do next? If anyone has similar experience with these codes what was the fix?

Thanks for listening.
D.

So the great news is I replaced the BAS control unit. Mine read A0275457232 - €1200 plus VAT. I got A0255457232 (€40) from a dismantled SLK which I confirmed with MB is compatible. If I had the time I would crack open the bad unit and check the wires and joints but I don't.
