Sl320 r129 engine cut out my P reg 320 cut out three times the is morning throwing up

It cut out three times mange to restart it twice but the third it had to recovered on a lowloader

I had this on my 300ce coupe 1989, turned to be worn/ non OEM distributor cap/rotor/seal, but it happened once on my 1996 SL320 on a slow sharp uphill turn, but not since. Theres an article in Merc club magazine about distributor cap, but not read it, pm me this eve.

By1996 the 320 would have had the M104 engine which does not have a distributor assuming I've got the date correct?
 
Fuel pump is the more likely would you think?

The FPR will cause a lack of fuel. The OVP powers the ECU among other things which would lead to no ignition. The OVP has fuses on the top which can blow. Other possibility is the crank position sensor failure
