SL350 05 Car does not recognise roof up/down.Help appreciated,please.

I have just bought the car.The roof lowers and raises correctly,but get warning sound and dash warning,and windows don’t close last quarter of an inch when roof closed.I believe it could be a micro switch or a short/break in a wire.Would a general mechanic with a reader,be able to work out fault,or would I need an auto electrician,or a specialist.
I am a bit of a skin flint and should not of bought an SL,but I am getting older and hear the ticking clock,and they are such a lovely car.
What should I do?
Live in Chichester area,would be prepared to travel,for the right person to fix it,any suggestions on that front.
Any help suggestions,much appreciated.

You are going to need a Mercedes specialist that specifically understands the roof - it's very complex and you shouldn't let a non-specialist work on it or you will get a massive bill. You could talk to Ollie at Prestige Car Service ?
