Gav78 - please could you reply ASAP to your email re. this Thursday's photoshoot.
Many thanks,

Guy.

FYI - I have replied to Gavin numerous times by email. His phone was out of action but he has since been in touch today.
Thanks.

Does the forum have a policy on people who are here solely to scrounge free cars for magazine articles, for which they are presumably paid?

If they are not paying for the cars shouldn't they be paying / supporting the forum as commercial sponsors?

We had left these threads, as its in the spirit of the forum to encouage magazines etc to approach members.

However, after my experience with 'Pie Man' I tend to agree with you:

Just my 2p's worth on these shoots.

Last year I volunteered my CLS55 AMG for one of your shoots, twice you changed the dates of the shoots without prior notice. The 2nd time you scheduelled a shoot with me, I booked the date off work and was all set to proceed.

A week before hand I had chased you a number of times for clarifcation as to the location & time of the shoot with no replies. 3 days before the shoot I had a 1 sentence email from you saying that it was no longer happening as MB couldnt supply a car, no apology or anything for wasting my time

I appreciate the nature of your work envolves alot of organisation, but if you have someone willing to donate their car & time, the very least you can do is keep them upto date!"]ust my 2p's worth on these shoots.

I can only apologise to anyone who feels that they have not been kept informed - there is indeed a lot of work involved in organising a multi-car photoshoot.

For example today I have just been told that a car that was promised for an up-coming shoot has just been sold - with no indication whatsoever that this might happen, three days before a shoot with two other owners cars, a photographer and a location that has to be paid for.

I am a freelance writer and thus have no control whatsoever over the budgets of the magazines for which I write - and thus cannot myself offer any remuneration.
However, in 15 years and perhaps 200 owners shoots that I have organised only 2 or 3 people have ever asked whether they would be paid - nearly all have simply enjoyed a great day out with fellow enthusiasts and some free pictures of their cars. And the many forums with which I have been involved have been delighted to help out, and pleased to get an acknowledegement in the feature. Long may it remain so.

At least you were told, you didn't bother contacting me after I booked a day off did you? I had to contact you, even then no apology. After 15 years you would think you would have the courtesy to keep people informed.

I am very sorry - are you Karl Edwards? If so, I have also emailed you to this effect.

Many thanks to those owners who brought their cars to last Thursday's photoshoot - it was a great day out and I hope you all enjoy the feature in due course.

Why not post it up on the forum when it's out?
