Hi guys, new here, and loving so far.

Feeling a slight wump through the pedal when braking at slow speeds.

Nothing drastic but prefer brakes and suspension to be optimal at all times.

Therefore thinking of replacing the front discs/pads.

Does anyone know who the OEM manufacturer are for the discs fitted to a 2008 SL?

Also, can anyone explain if I need 330 or 350 mm discs? I am of the impression the car is a 272bhp vehicle but it has a three setting 7G 'box including the manual on paddle shift which doesn't change up until asked to by the paddle shift controlled by the operator.
Not sure if the last part is pertinent but maybe this would mean the car is a non standard model requiring bigger brakes?

Just a thought, I will bow to superior knowledge!!

Possibly the best way, to be certain, is to make the ones currently on your car. You may even be able to tell with a tape measure without taking the wheels off which size they are.

Thanks for that!!
Only problem.... have you seen the weather!!!

I think I shall simply wait for brighter weather and get out the tape measure!

You will not get an accurate measurement with a tape measure with the wheels on, tricky with the wheels off. The difference between 340mm and 345mm could easily be lost measuring this way.

I agree Pete, but with the op saying his choice was 330 or 350 I thought that the 20mm difference would be easier to spot even with the wheels still on.

I have actually found out that the correct part number relates to a 330mm front disc.

This may be odd because the vehicle has flappy paddles linked to a proper manual setting in the gearbox.

I was of the understanding that this was only available on the sport upgrade which would therefore add 350mm disc.

I would appreciate any thoughts to this end.

I thought that flappy paddles was standard on the r230 with the seven speed box and sport package was an option with lowered suspension etc?

Aha!! Well I am glad to finally speak to someone who can shed some light.
All of the research I had done kind of contradicted itself so this makes sense and therefore I have no sport package with more expensive tyres and brakes and and and.....
Happy days!!
